Pre-Wedding and Honeymoon Reviews

Rio:  A

Got a great deal on Smartervegas.com, and it was such a nice room! The check-in and check-out took a little longer than I expected, but the room was worth a second stay in the future.

Spa at Vdara: A+

My MOH treated her and I to some spa time before my bachelorette party.  We loved the spa at Vdara, very friendly service, and the facilities were very nice and modern.  Especially liked the Meditation Room, very calming and much needed in the midst of wedding stress.

Thunder From Down Under: A+

Went there as part of my bachelorette party, and it was great.  A few of my girls were a little skeptical (they are a bit conservative), but everyone ended up laughing their butts off, cheering, and having a good time.  It was pretty funny and entertaining, plus the guys are HOT.

Smith & Wollensky:  C

My in-laws hosted our rehearsal dinner here, and I was less than impressed.  I cannot comment on any of the service or planning because they did all of that, but on the night of the dinner, we were supposed to have our rehearsal a little bit before dinner, but it never happened because they were not set up until 15 after our dinner start time. I would have been more upset if I weren’t busy dealing with our MB situation.  Some of the food was really good, but no one’s steak was cooked correctly, and it was almost impossible to ever get a second glass of wine.  Also, they put 50 of us in a room that I think was just too small for a group that size, we should have had a bigger one, esp when we booked almost a year ago. It was very cramped in there, and they had bigger rooms available.

Salon at Luxor: A+

I don’t remember the name of my stylist, but I was really impressed with her.  I went there the day after the wedding to cut ALL of my hair off, which was a bit nerve wrecking, but she did a great job and I loved it. I cut 23 inches off!

Encore Tower Suites: A++++

We stayed here for just one night as our “honeymoon suite” the day after the wedding. Mostly just because we got a discount for getting married there. OMFG – Amazing. If I were rich, I would never stay anywhere else. You get your own private entrance, valet and concierge, the rooms are beautiful (and much more modern than Wynn), and the customer service is the best we’ve ever experienced.  If you are looking for a special treat to pamper yourselves, stay at Encore Tower Suites.

Bartolotta: A

The food was delicious, and the setting was pretty cool, but the service was not as great as we have had either time we have been to Eiffel Tower Restaurant, which is comparable in price.  If I’m gonna spend $300 on dinner, I want amazing service, which we just didn’t get here…but we did meet chef Paul Bartolotta!

Tableau: A+

Food was AMAZING. We had breakfast there. Best French toast I’ve ever had!

Yolos:  B

I’ve read lots of reviews on here that made us want to try this place out, but neither of us were impressed.  Maybe it’s because we live in AZ so we REALLY know good Mexican food… It was ok, but not great, and we both had stomach aches afterwards.

ZUMANITY: A+

Such an awesome show! It’s the “adult” version of cirque du soleil, it has nudity, sexuality and lots of dirty humor, but if that’s cool with you, you will LOVE it. Amazing.

Spa at Cosmoploitan: A+

Husband and I called almost every spa on the strip to try to find one that had co-ed areas like Jacuzzis and steam rooms so that we could go relax and actually be together, but it was way harder then we thought to find.  In a last ditch effort, we walked over to Cosmo cus it was right across the street from where we were, went up to the Spa and talked to them.  While they still have segregated spas, they did offer “spa suites” that you could rent per hour for up to 4 people, and it was only $95/hour.  The suite was a private room with soaking tub, steam room, shower, relaxing bed, TV, etc.  So we got a couples massage in the suite and then had it to ourselves for an hour afterward to relax. It was awesome. A great way to reconnect with your other half after all the wedding stress is over.  The customer service was awesome too, and the regular facilities were BEAUTIFUL. The Jacuzzi in the women’s spa was designed to look like a hot spring in a mountain with a waterfall.

PHANTOM LAS VEGAS SPECTACULAR: A+

If you are a fan of Phantom, you have to see this. It was WAY better than any of the productions I have seen before. The theatre was beautiful!

Olives: A

We made reservations here before I actually looked the menu. I’m a really picky eater (don’t eat seafood or a lot of things), so unfortunately there was not a single entrée that I wanted to eat.  But we did get appetizer salads, and they were AMAZING.

(I ended up eating Chipotle for dinner – sometimes you just need comfort food!)

Origins of India: A

A friend of ours lives in Vegas so she and her Bf took us out off the strip for dinner.  I’d never had Indian food before, but this was really good!!  A good way to start for begginners.

Wynn Buffet: B

It was good, but it was not as good as you would expect from Wynn. Bellagio’s buffet was better.

Bellagio Buffet: A+

This is the second trip where we have gone to the weekend brunch at Bellagio, and it is SOOOO good. You will eat more than you can imagine.

Serendidpity3: B

The food is really yummy, and if you wanna have a good time, you have to order the Scorpion Bowl – it’s a giant rum concoction of goodness for 2 people that will leave you feeling goooooood  They get a B because our service sucked and we never even got a salad we ordered.

Coach (Venetian) and Apple (Forum Shops): A+

We bought each other wedding gifts at Caoch and Apple, and the customer service was great at both stores. Coach even gave me a brand new purse later that night after my zipper broke without any questions or hassle whatsoever.

Tao: A+

We ate dinner here on our last night in Vegas, the food was soooooo good and the setting of Tao is awesome. Best potstickers I’ve ever had.
